Part-Time Learning Facilitator

Location: East Coast of Madeira
Hours: Part-time, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Weekdays

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate Learning Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have long-term experience in the pedagogical field, tutoring or child-mending. They need to be fluent in Portuguese, have basic English knowledge and a motivation to broaden their knowledge of democratic education and self-directed learning. This role is part-time, with working hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement a democratic, nature-based learning environment.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages independent, self-directed learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to plan and deliver engaging educational activities based on the students interest.
• Participate in bi-weekly democratic meetings with students to discuss and decide on learning activities and school projects.
• Engage with the local community and integrate community projects into the curriculum.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in Portuguese, basic knowledge in English.
• Extensive experience in the pedagogical field, tutoring or child-mending.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about freedom-based education and nature integration.
• Ability to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
